Live Studies for 2011-12

Dear Friends:
Hope you're having a great summer! I want to invite you to my Bible studies this fall. Looking to God's Word for guidance is essential in today's world. Following Verbum Domini, Pope Benedict's Apostolic Exhortation on the Word ofGod, we are all called to join in on what the Holy Father calls the "great conversation." In short, God wants to speak to you through the scriptures andhear from you in prayer. If you're like me, you could use a word from God. --Jeff Cavins
Fall Semester Jeff will teach at the following locations:

First Corinthians: The Church and the Christian Community

You will:

  • Learn the importance of Christian unity in relation to the Church as the Body of Christ.
  • Explore St. Paul's strategy for successful evangelization.
  • See how to live a Christian life in the midst of a pagan culture.
  • Discover why St. Paul sees the Church as the Body of Christ.
  • Learn how St. Paul's letter proves that the sacrifice of Christ is truly made present in the Eucharist.

Walking Toward Eternity: Making Choices for Today

Drawing from the Great Adventure, Walking Toward Eternity (WTE) focuses on nine major topics that are essential for living out the Christian life. WTE provides the students the opportunity to hone in on areas of their lives that not only have to change but will have a dramatic impact on daily living. Each lesson includes meditation using Lectio Divina, a lecture, small group discussion, and a time of prayer before the Tabernacle.
