Here is what a recent pilgrim had to say about our annual Holy Land pilgrimage!

Thank you for a most wonderful, spiritual experience these past 2 weeks. The pilgrimage surpassed any expectations I had. Your teachings, Jeff, were so meaningful at each site. You are able to pull together all the history, the spirituality, the geography of the area, the archeological aspects, etc. so well to make the whole story make sense. You have challenged us to grow spiritually not only with questions to ask ourselves, but ways to ponder those question in our lives, and the wonderful "weapons" we have to tackle them, grow from them, and make necessary changes in our lives so that we may be better disciples of the Lord and spread the Good News to others. Certainly my times in adoration, and daily prayer will be enriched because of this Holy Land experience. ~~ Barb K

School of Discipleship this Fall!

Jeff will be offering an 8 week course in Golden Valley, MN, sponsored by the Catechetical Institute.

The CI Life Skills "School of Discipleship" is open to ALL!

Learning new topics is interesting, but if what we learn is not incorporated into a dynamic walk with Christ, we end up just knowledge.

Led by Jeff Cavins, CI instructor and former director, this course is not a just a teaching, not simply a class— but an experience! Jeff will help you create the life you've been longing for as a modern-day disciple. If you've ever wondered what it was like to be a disciple 2,000 years ago... if ever you thought about what it would have been like to walk with Jesus daily—this course is for you!

School of Discipleship Description:

The CI has been offering many classes about the Catholic Faith; now it’s time to bring it all together in a celebration of learning, growing, and practicing. The School of Discipleship is an 8-part experience unlike any other that will not only teach the basics of discipleship but will provide an ongoing initiative to put what you learn into practice!

The School of Discipleship will take what you have learned to the next level! You will be joined by people like you—people who have a hunger to live and share their faith. This is the key to our Church growing.

The School of Discipleship meets 8 Thursdays from 7 PM - 8:30 PM at Good Shepherd Church in Golden Valley, MN, October 11 - December 13, 2018. (No class on Nov. 1 or Nov. 22.)

You’ll learn important keys to live your life as a modern disciple:

  • What does it mean to be a modern-day disciple?
  • What are the daily disciplines of a disciple?
  • How do you share your faith with confidence?
  • How do you bring your prayer life to a new level?
  • How do you hear the voice of God in daily prayer?

Special Guest Teacher: Fr. Mike Schmitz
